Bridge of Spies, the latest collaboration of Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks came highly recommended from a friend of the wife, plus it has some high level Oscar nominations, including Best Picture (not that I care, just pointing out how highly regarded it is by others), so we watched it last night. Just one year after the great (and apparently polarizing) Birdman, Alejandro Inarritu returns to the screen with his new offering, The Revenant, which is selling out theaters thanks to the newly revealed 2016 Oscar nominations. Movie Review: THE HATEFUL EIGHT
Saw two movies in my birthday week – The Hateful Eight and The Revenant (review here). First up, on my actual birthday itself is The Hateful Eight, the new movie from Quentin Tarantino.
I’ve noticed over the last few years it’s become a trend to rip on Tarantino and his movies – I’m not exactly sure why, but I suspect it’s more contrarian than anything else. I don’t think I’ve ever claimed to dislike anything just because everyone else liked it, but whatever you gotta do to feel edgy, I suppose.
